A Dedication To My Father Above

This poem is a dedication
To my Father from above
Because I have been neglectful
In showing Him my love

I haven't said a heart felt prayer
In really quite a while
But now I realize what I've done
And I hope that makes Him smile

I'm sorry God for everything
I just haven't really been me
I thought I could do things on my own
But I was wrong and now I see

I'm sorry for not always praying
And thanking you everyday
For saying specific words
That I never thought I'd say

I'm sorry for neglecting you
And I state that above all
Cuz without you I'd be nothing
Still unrecovered from my falls

I hope you know I mean this God
I hope you understand
That I know I need Your love
And Your guiding, helping hand

Yes, I made a dedication
To my Father up above
Because I meant the words I said
And I said them all with love.
