The Radio

by CarissalRADIOFACEl   Aug 8, 2006

So I sit in my room with the radio on
and the volume control is as loud as it will go
It doesn't matter who's singing this song
cause her voice is the sweetest I've ever known

The perfect words send chills through my spine
and I think I know what this song is about
It's becoming clear to me that:
even this singer's got me figured out

She knows what I'm feeling,
she knows what I'm thinking
It almost makes me wonder how
with out even knowing what's going on
she knows I'm crying right now

And as the tears fall down
and splatter on the floor
she's singing about
how she can't take it anymore

While she delves intot he chorus
it's becoming clear enough to see
that this song that this stanger's singing
was written just for me

So I sit in my car with the radio on
and the volume control is just a little too low
It doesn't matter who's singing this song
cause, apparently, she already knows

The perfect words bring tears to my eyes
even though I promised I wouldn't cry
It still amazes me to this day
that she knows exactly why

She know why it hurts so badly in here,
though I've never met her, somehow she hears

And, as the tears fall down
she knows I want to scream
cause every word she's singing now
she's singing them for me

So I sit in my room with the radio on
and the volume control is as loud as it will go
It doesn't matter who's singing this song
cause her voice is the sweetest I've ever known

-Carissa-
I wrote this song from experience, actually. I was having a really, really rough day and I came home and turned on my radio, preparing to take a well deserved nap when a song came on that described exactly how I felt at that moment.
