Past Endeavors

by Michael   Aug 8, 2006

The house of souls,
that was full of happiness
is now full of loneliness.

Sacred moon shines through stained glass
revealing memories best left forgotten,
strong wind blows against the windows
as the sounds of children are only echoes,
essence of wet vines and plants
creep through the walls where secrets still live.

Candle light flickers
thunder cracks
as I can still hear
the lonely voice of one love forgotten.

To this dark night
she awaits for her love to return
with a ring and open arms
instead of hanging in the rafters above.

Over time,
portraits of innocence become art of macabre,
clocks of happiness finally stop,
breaths of other diminish while pain lingers in the air.

Her soul still lingers in this house
the raven has no pity for her
the rain covers her sadness away from others
the darkness shrouds her.

While gravestones cover her garden
she waits twirling her music box
where the gazebo enchanted with love
is now cursed with forgotten,
as tears roam the endless halls
her voice reaching for her groom
to release he from this prison.

Omg! It has been too long for poetry! I am sorry everyone, but I had trouble with writer's block plus with summer school and other things to do as well. So please enjoy and comment!
