Sleeping

by John Pickett   Aug 9, 2006

What a rush to hold you again.
So close in my arms as we sleep together.

I rub your back and caress your hair, a gentle kiss on your neck so you know I am there.

The skin so soft like an angels wings, it brings to mind those playful things.

The scent of your body , night is reanimated , only briefly, but then life is very brief.

I try to readjust and turn away, but soon as you discover the shelter of my arms is missing you pull me back. Ya, I'm smiling.

Our body's soon contour back together, the mind drifts , the hands wander, the love starts, you hold my hands so tight in yours, don't worry I will never let you go.

Once again, you say ,"I love you",and I say ,"I love you too, sleep well , and pleasant dreams".
