Existing

by SomeDaysDreamer   Aug 9, 2006

Once before
We existed without time
With
No clocks
No schedules
No cement blocks
Tied to ankles
Of young dreamers
Or hearts of spent time
But now,
The mentioned idea
Of these blocks
That brought adults to laughter
At the absurd nature
Of their purpose,
Have formed
Whether by atoms and molecules
Or Philosopher's blueprints
And we live
Below the level
Of carefree witness
We once did
It is interesting
Or what may be listed as sad
In times of timeless beings
How much we depend on time,
"Time" this strange creature
Brought into living shadows
From depths of a place
That everyone knew
But no one felt
Needed to be bothered
Without it back then
The sun still rose
The Earth still headed East
In search of a land
More peaceful
Where she could shake off her skin,
These tiny molecular composures
That crawled throughout her,
And she could rest
But the thing
About going in a circle,
Is that
You never seem to get anywhere
Without time
The Earth searched
Albeit, not so frantically
As the coming day
With time
Came strange metal contraptions
And machines that think
That weighted down our Earth
More so than the odd time-keepers
Called clocks
So that now
Our Earth's aching limbs
Support our high -rise buildings
That without time
Would crumble to the ground
And the world would become confused
Humans would be thrown off
Of daily life rituals
That seem to have fallen
Into the black infinity
At the center of our galaxy
And those select few
Who decided to leave time,
And stress and worry,
And the weight of cement blocks,
In the shadowed depths
Where they shant be bothered
Or poked or prodded,
Those people would be sitting content
At noon
Knowing the sun was due South
But unaware that this entitled
Four numbers and two dots
And they would be doing
What they did for all time:
Existing.
