Beach of Lonely Tears

by Broken Saint   Aug 11, 2006

Sitting alone, here at the beach
Thinking of you-so out of reach
I want you here just for a while
Grant me that wish so that I'd smile
But winds forbid our unity
Such dreaded pain, melancholy
I know you'd want to be right here
And watch with me the waters clear

To hear the birds who sing their tune
Their songs go on 'til rise of noon
That's when their flock just flies away
To rest for yet another day
It saddens me to watch them leave
To see them off just makes me grieve
For once again I'm left alone
No souls are near whose presence known

I watched the waves trip on the sand
I closed my eyes and felt your hand
Your skin so soft and touch so warm
When you are near there'd be no harm
I really felt your presence there
Open my eyes I didn't dare
For if I did, my dream would fade
But fates are sealed; the cards were played
We can't escape what's real and true
All I wanted was to see you
Opened my eyes and saw the sky
You weren't there. I couldn't cry

I know that dreams are not for real
That's why much pain is what I feel
Can't let it out, can't shed the tears
That have been kept for many years
I was alone, you weren't there
No one was there who'd even care

The sand beneath was hot to touch
It burned my skin, it hurt so much
I saw my skin that had turned red
So I stood up and walked ahead
There lay waters gentle and calm
So cool to touch beneath my palm
The waters pulled and pushed at me
But it was weak, weak as could be
To be relaxed just felt so good
But you're not here. I wish you could
You'd stay with me and lay back down
To feel the waves tha've come to town

The mid-day sun had lost its heat
And so I got back on my feet
I walked along the shore so great
I felt the time was getting late
I sat back down to watch the sun
It's setting now and soon be gone

So then again I thought of you
And then I made a heart tattoo
Imprinted on the sands of time
I drew it on the beach shoreline
The heart had made me less alone
But its poor fate I had not known
For when the waves had come once more
They erased it right off the floor
That's when I felt that dreams are meant
To fade away and just be dreamt

-------------------------------------------

The waves have all come to subside
The ocean was swall'wing its pride
The sun had set on distant shore
My tears had just begun to pour
The birds were gone, the waves were meek
The sand was cool, and so to speak
But you're not here to be with me
I guess I'll have to let it be
The day again has come to end
Oh, Destiny! Why can't you bend?!

Such cruel lives we must endure
But you'll be there, and that's for sure
And one day you'll be here with me
If that day comes, we'll have to see
So 'til that time, I'll be right here
Here at my beach of lonely tears
Waiting for you along its shore
Waiting for you forevermore...

Very well written. It was as if you were writing about me. Love is always hard but worth every pain in the end!
