Lies Hurt

by Connie   Aug 12, 2006

Partial Truth ~ Partial Lie
That's how it all began
The saddest part of all this is...
I think that's how it will end.

A family once extremely close
Has now become quite distant
The two parties that are involved
Has made it strained for us all.

The most disturbing thing to me is...
The person that could correct this
Has no intention of telling the truth
Which simply put ~ he told a lie.

I like this one personally. Mostly because you made it so the readers have to fill in the pieces and assume what happened and what everything means. Also, because it's short and has so much meaning packed into it. Love it.

'Which simply put ~ he told a lie.'

About that sentence... who is 'he'? What did he lie about? And why is the family now destroyed because of it?

And, I think that sentence is just a repeat of the sentence before it. You said he didn't tell the truth already, so why tell the reader 'he told a lie'? If he didn't tell the truth, then obviously he lied.

Sorry, but I wasn't to fond of this poem.
