War Took My Families Happiness

by WordsHurt   Aug 12, 2006

What's happening?
Someone's screaming
Everyone is crying
What's wrong?

There is someone's lying
There on the floor
But there body's covered
With a white cloth

"Mummy who's that?"
She's still but tears are coming
I walk up to the person
Remove the cloth from his face

Daddy's there but his eyes are closed
How can he sleep in such noise?
I'm shaking and shaking
But he won't wake up

"Mummy, why won't he wake up?"
She's just staring at daddy
I shake her too but she won't move
"Auntie, why won't daddy wake up?"

"Daddy's gone to sleep"
"I shook him but he won't wake"
"He will never wake up again"
"Why"

They are talking in riddles
Daddy won't talk nor would mummy
But now I realise, why won't he talk
A sea of tears is flowing on my cheeks

I begged him not to go
But he said "helping is good
God will be happy"
But how can God be happy now?

Daddy's gone, and
He took mummy's smile with him
One bomb took, life of one hundred
And daddy, my family's happiness
Were one of them...
