Major Disappointment

How could it all be so sudden?
Like a flash you left me stranded
Once I was filled with indescribable bliss
Now I'm standing here empty-handed

Wrenching defeat burns inside
As my mind clouds invent up a storm
My dying heart lies in a prison cell
As all my hopes are torn

I thought that we would reign
Up where Nirvana exceeds to the sky
But discovered instead that you weren't sincere
And your feelings for me had grown dry

Now I'm standing still with no place to go
While distracted by things of the past
I'm in disbelief that our journey is through
You always claimed it would last
