The Bird & The Tree

by Katran   Aug 13, 2006

There's a little bird
That lives in a tree
The tree's not a cage
But it might as well be

The bird flys all day
And the bird sings
But every bird has
Only two wings

So the bird plays games
And visits bird friends
But every sun sets
And every day ends

So back to the cage tree
The she-bird must fly
Where another she-bird
Also resides

The other she-bird
Is the mother, you see
And though the bird tries
She cannot get free

Anger and sorrow
Sad songs the bird sings
Make this tree a very
Unhappy tree to be

But one day the bird
Will fly far away
She will fly all night
And fly all day

She'll find a new tree
And make new bird-friends
But she won't have to worry
About the day's end

Because in this place
No sad songs will be
It won't be a cage
But a sturdy tree

(Un-Finished)
