All a lie

by Alistair Fin   Aug 13, 2006

Something in you voice
touched my soul
it brought me great pleasures
sights of stories untold
at night i would close my eyes
your name, a whisper on my lips
visions of you on my fluttering eyelids
traces of your body on my fingertips
the morning dawn would come
i would open my eyes
i'd reach out blindly for you
the realization would come and i would cry
you weren't there
it was so long ago
i would remember you
and i'd go numb from head to toe,
even now, as i know the truth
know that you don't want me
yet i still dream of you
i lie back down
i close my eyes
i remember the happiness
even if it was all a lie
