A Sunrise And A Ghost

by Alistair Fin   Aug 13, 2006

A Sunrise And A Ghost
Brand your name into my heart and stop the beat of these drums
Close these lifeless eyes, leaving a vacant seat behind.
This plane is going to crash, brace yourself for no survival
This pilot has lost his sight, flying this plane straight to hell.

And this is where I found you, this is where I fell
I couldn't see through my eyes, you offered your hand to help.
And I blindly followed you deep into the woods
I clung to you as my savior, my guardian angel
and in return I gave you everything I could.
You took these gifts of love, soul, and heart with no reply
I had nothing left but you which is all I'll ever need in life.
A silence filled the air that night
Though it was actually dawn, I did not know this.
There was a darkness spreading through the valleys of my mind
A ship was sinking in my chest and the passengers who fled had drowned alive.
The silence chased me into the cold end of the woods
Your voice was no longer with me, you could no longer save me
and I knew you no longer would
for you had left me to slowly die, taking away everything I owned.
Stop the beat of these drums
Close these lifeless eyes, leaving a vacant body behind.

A deafening cry had filled the air that night
An infinite silence had filled the air night after night.
