Meaningless

by ms   Aug 14, 2006

Oblivious to the sharks, i wade through the water. My boots; full of water, My pants; clinging to my knees, My bones; aching. But somehow I'm still sloshing about, continuing to wonder what it is I'm doing, what this is all about. But there is someone there, just beyond my sight, hidden in the mist. I try to run-- but i fall. I try to call out-- but my voice is dry. And there, sitting in the darkness, my everlasting failure. To understand is to come out of the bliss, to realize that theres sharks surrounding you, that there is no escape, that you in your sobriety can now see its hopeless. But is it?
