Gardendark

by sibyllene   Aug 15, 2006

We are stretching now, and separating, like taffy and
blooming petals of flowers
spinning and expanding out
into a gardendark world

these friends of mine, these
polite and intimate strangers
I will jump from them with the pads of my feet
and reach back with grasping fingers

so I will hope to grab hold, and hope to not grab hold
and my toes will point forward like round petals into the
dark garden, where I want to find, to find
light.

I like this.. a lot! I was surprised that it was a poem about life because the title suggested a dark or sad poem.. I love surprises like that lol. It seemed kind of like a fantasy poem in a way, too, but it had a good message in it... or at least I thought it did.. about looking for the light in the 'dark' and looking forward, moving on. great Job!
