My Angel

by Absinth Eyes   Aug 15, 2006

The eyes that grip a heart in solitude
The topaz that bleed saline
The sapphire that tortures souls
They look upon another now

The world a faded wasteland
The ground slick with deceit
In the distance is my angel
Glorious in all her ways

Her light shining bright for all
Perfect to eyes and hearts alike
Catching even eyes made of sky
And from her hands falls heartache

From her lips, lies are born
Her wrath controls this world
My world
My broken pieces of life

That once fell to those ultramarine eyes
It is demolished now
It is desolate and distant
I am her servant

I fall to her very heed
I hand her knives made for my spine
My angel
My betrayer

And never shall she fall...

Wow. So much powerful emotion I am almost speechless. I adored the vocab in the first stanza and the gemstone imagery was beautiful.
