A second chance at a new life

by Mark   Aug 15, 2006

Sitting out underneath the stars,
Thinking about my past, to the time when I was behind those bars.
The choices I made that changed how I live,
Wishing that I could have someone to forget and forgive.

I made a mistake, a mistake I regret,
I got the worst out of it all, I could have just payed the bet.
I can start a new life, and make it better,
Changing things around from a signed government letter.

Finally I have another chance after 20 years,
I know now never to waste my time drinking those beers.
I have a chance, a chance to start over,
Maybe with a little luck, I can find the 4 leaf clover.

So I'll take my luck and use it now,
I'll never ask again when and how.
The cold air from the misty night breeze against me,
Telling me, reminding me, that I am now free.
