Fading Memories

Memories that used to come so clear,
Memories that now struggle to appear.

Time heals all wounds, or so they say.
But don't also let time take my memories away.

I used to remember you so vivid and clear.
But each day it gets harder to bring them near.

I'm afraid I'll forget the true essence of you.
And if I were to do that i don't know what i would do.

So I stare at yours pictures and try to memorize your face.
But we both know pictures and videos could never take your place.

So I'll hold on tight to the memories i have.
For until we meet again,
they are all I'm destined to have.

So until we meet again, help me hold on tight,
to my memories of you to help get me through the night.
