That Special Someone

by My Obsεssion   Mar 6, 2004

You look into their beautiful eyes,
and that’s when time really flies.
The world around you melts into a monotone,
leaving you and your special someone all alone.

Even when they’re sitting very near,
you can’t tell them that you love them dear.
And when you reach your hand to them they back away,
into a place so far from you, maybe it’s another day.

You may try and try to tell them your love,
but all you can imagine is a laugh and a hard shove.
As your heart breaks, the tears start to take form,
as they fly from your eyes like a wondrous storm.

You cry and you cry,
only to wish you could die.
If you can’t be with them for the rest of your days,
then what good is life anyways?

So the next time you see them you might give a shrug,
while inside you’re longing for that long-awaited hug.
To see them so close, yet for them to be so far away,
is a very awful price to pay.

But in the end it’s all worth it,
if they even stop by once for a visit.
You just look into their eyes for awhile,
shrug and just flash them a smile,
because the game of love is hard to win.
