Since You Went Away

They say things happen for a reason,
that you can't change fate,
not matter how hard you try,
so has fate taken it's course,
and stolen you away,
out of my reach,
out of my grasp,
just to spit me,
do the gods want to see my pain,
do they want to test how long i last,
are they taking a tallie of my broken hearts,
of the tears i shed,
since the day you went away.
will things get better,
will the tears suddenly dry,
leaving not trace to the naked eye,
with a smile on my face,
shielding the pain,
wearing the mask i wear everyday,
everyday since you went away.
