Why School?

Everyday I go to school
To learn.
And I know that it's good for me.
But when am I ever
Going to need to know about indices or exponential functions?
When will knowing how many feral cats there are
In Australia
Ever help me during my life?
And what do the representations of LOVE
Of all things
Have to do with anything?
I know that school is useful.
I WILL learn things that I can use,
But I still think it's a waste
Learning everything else.
So why make me go to school,
A place I hate but for my friends,
And learn these things I'll never need.
Why not let me learn,
What I need and no more?
