Diary Of A Dreamer

by Michelle   Mar 6, 2004

Dear Diary,
Just last night I had a dream
And C.C. was there...
You know, the one that lives on Abby Road
With the Dylan-like hair..
We were sitting on a cloud
In this whimsical fantasy,
As as I gazed into his eyes
He whispered, "Baby..marry me".
My very first thought was
No more a loveless ending!
My angel must have heard the prayer
I've continuously been sending!
Then he said he'd be forever mine
and slid his hand around my waist,
I closed my eyes in sweet content
And leaned into his embrace...
But just then, Dear Diary,
That's when I awoke...
I gazed around in a bewildered daze
Mumbling "where IS that bloody bloke?"
I stumbled to my feet
And rubbed the sleepy from my eyes,
I stepped into the bright sunshine
And squinted into the sky...
And I saw just one lone cloud
Creeping slowly by,
It looked startlingly familiar
Drifting there up high...
Dear Diary, I think that's the little cloud
I sat upon in my farcical reverie!!
The pragmatist inside says no, of course not,
But the romantic dreamer wonders could it be??

Thanks for the idea Craig..hope you don't mind that I "borrowed" it..what a wonderful thought to sit on a big, fluffy white cloud way up there...:)

Ohh michelle...To me you are so wonderfuly lovely, so adorably delightful, so sweet&scrumptious! If it wasnt for you there would be none of these poems that u have mentioned here. If it wasnt for yr comments on my first attempts there would be no clouds, beaches, angel prayers etc. I i owe all of them to you. they are the product of yr sweet kindness and my mad imagination! If it wasnt for you these `whimsical fantasys` would not exist. Thank you deeply michelle/mate. if I never write another poem ever again then this poem would have made all my humble scribbles worthwhile. Will treasure this poem, think ive told you i cut and paste it in2 notepad. usualy i quote a few lines, to highlight key points the poem has meant to me but wow im speechless here, im trying to forget its about me and trying to look at it in an impartial light but i cant. i love this, all those emails weve exchanged, all those hilarious tete ta tetes weve had, all those silly little different nouns we use. i really dont know what to say here, trying to say what i feel, the happy warm feelin inside this poem gives me...lookin on a cloud, abbey rd, lennons hair, marry me and as u know my favourite `bloody bloke`. no i dnt mind u have borrowed at all mich. in fact u can ransack my entire catologue every day if u are going to come up with poetry like this. the imagery u use here, a dreamy dear diary, the playful use of sum of my poems titles and that beautiful ending, lookin up at a lone cloud, wondering, hoping that it will bring u yr dreams...this is enchanting. i could go on and on but i will prob tell u loads more in our little chats on yahoo. (Loved yr coyness infront of the camera mich!!!hahaha) One thing i have noticed though is that one of my poems isnt mentioned here(lol) wonder why that is!!!... michelle thank u so so much, forever in yr debt...big hug xxxx speaks2u later me old mucker/mate/bud/friend/pal.........

hi Mich! had to read your poem twice to check if i got it wrong! and the second time round sent me tumbling to the floor! LOL! it started with such dreamlike qualities - "my angel must have heard the prayer"... but took an about turn in the second half! "where is the bloody bloke?" and "my farcical reverie"!?!?! LOL! love the light-hearted manner you approached this! simply wonderful! oh, you "borrowed" more than just Craig's fluffy white cloud eh? hehe, no more a loveless ending?? :P thanx for dropping by my poems too... cheers!
