Thank You Jesus

by Dani   Aug 16, 2006

As we rode through Jerusalem
My eyes were wide
It was my first time here
And I was at my dad's side

My daddy tells me
About a man of kindness
Here in this town
When we look beside us

Hate and jest
Were on their faces
An angry crowd
From different races

My fathers face
Was confused and twisted
He looked at the cross
Then his face misted

That is the man
The merciful savior
He did nothing wrong
Does not deserve this behavior

Daddy do the nails hurt
And oh daddy why
Does He wear that crown?
Must he die?

What are they doing
With the robe and dice?
Why are they spitting
And telling those lies?

He's doing it for you
And for all the others
He says we are a family
All sisters and brothers

Though we're different
We all sin
The only way to heaven
Is to ask Him in

I look at the man
Going through the strife
Thank you Jesus
For giving your life
