Hopes Of Tomorrow

by Kelly   Aug 16, 2006

A piercing silence hung in the air
Smothering the room, blowing through her hair.
The hurt, the pain and the tears,
Caught up with her over the years,

Drowning her sorrows,
With nothing but the hopes of tomorrow

Her spirit was dampened,
Her visions were blackened.
Her mind it was weakened,
Her life it was ruined

Drowning her sorrows,
With nothing but the hopes of tomorrow

Her eyes were blank like open windows
She hung her head and wept like the willows.
The tears streamed down her cheeks,
They left stains like the watery creeks.

Drowning her sorrows,
With nothing but the hopes of tomorrow

But along came a guy and with a simple hello
He smiled at her and it made her face glow
All her problems, they seemed to disappear
He rid her of all the sorrow and fear

No longer needing to drown her sorrows,
But now looking forward to the joys of tomorrow
