Someone like him

by scenekiddieshere   Aug 17, 2006

And you told me as we sat in my living room
"there's nothing that rhymes with orange,"
I smiled, and that was always our inside joke
as we listened to the mocking ballad of the door hinge

And I asked you as we sat in my living room
"do you have any idea how purple tastes?"
applesauce? We laughed until we couldn't breathe
I wouldn't wanna laugh with anyone but you, but it was all a waste

And you asked me as we walked around the fair
"why do you keep wasting your time with someone like him?"
it stopped me in my tracks, but I chose to overlook
and I wanted to tell you, but you were so undeserving of that guilt trip

And you told me when we were back in my living room
"You deserve better than him, why do you love someone like him? just don't..."
and you stopped mid-sentence,okay, let's go on that guilt trip
and I told you as we sat in my living room, "Because someone like you won't."
