Daddy

by Dawn Ellis Cantrell   Aug 17, 2006

Daddy since you've gone away
We miss you more each day
The only thing we feel we gain
Is to know you feel no more pain
It's been a month since you left
And emptiness is all we have felt
We know you are with your King above
And will continue sending your love
We are trying to heal this major cut
And we can hear you saying
"Toughen up"
Today we stand at your grave and cry
But knowing in our heart you will never die
Because down our face, through our tears
We can feel that you are near
No more pain, you have to bare
So daddy rest in your easy chair
We know one day we will see you again
When you see us coming, let us in
We love you and miss you alto
But together we will go on
Because of your strength
You made us all wrong
