Desperately Trying

He keeps the hours coming
so he doesn't realize she's not there
He works and swears all the time
he doesn't want to care

She keeps her friends close to her
so she never has to feel
She shops and cleans day and night
hoping she will heal

A song comes on the radio,
it makes him think of her
He quickly changed the station
as his eyes begin to blur

For her its too late,
as the tears begin to fall
She just doesn't know why
he doesn't care at all

He loves her but is so scared
of losing her again
She misses him so much
just wants to be let back in

But the pain goes on and on,
neither wish to speak
He's to scared to miss her,
she's too afraid to show she's weak

So the days go by
as they slowly fall apart
But he loves her,
and she knows he has her heart
