She is by herself all alone

She is in the dark and you don't shine a way for her,
She is crying and you don't hear her,
She is cold and you don't warm her,
She is scared and you don't comfort her,
She looks at you and you don't see her,
Help me understand then why are you there for her,
To keep her mind in confinement,
To give something to cry about,
To take all her sheets and leave her shivering in your dark,
To give her nightmare every night,
And with eyes of hatred, stare her down as if she nothing in the world to you,
It's hard to understand the story from just one party,
I could ask her but you made sure she wasn't around to answer me.
