A Warrior\'s Plea

by Tresa Crane   Aug 19, 2006

O armor, fail thee not, again
strong and solid, yet so thin
hide thy weak heart behind goodbyes
forged from anger, tears and lies

Shining brightly upon thy chest
adorned by sorrow's well known crest
parry shots to thy vulnerable soul
allow no arrow to reach its goal

O armor, I implore you still
protect thee from thy spirit's will
regard no source of blow nor fire
see ye not a knight nor squire

Thy sword will do its work, thy friend
tis ye though on whom I depend
permit no aim to find ye down
for all the land is battleground

O armor, betray thee not, once more
let no enemies reach thy core
beg love's sweet pain to pierce thee not
as ye, O armor, are all I've got
