The Short Version

by Tresa Crane   Aug 19, 2006

How much hope to give a dream
Before lack of an end
Or vision of ending
Demands we rehitch our wagon
To a new star

"Never give up! Never give in!"
The heart's blind rallying cry
To deafened minds
Preoccupied with reality and now
And with then

How much hope to give a dream
Before biding days
Become wasted years
And life has passed in a blink
Of a regretful eye

Always will paths be untraveled
Questions unanswered
Answers unquestioned
Hearts and minds in disagreement
As time presses

How much hope to give a dream
Before moving on
Or saying goodbye
Is the decidedly right choice to make
For one's ever

I wish I knew.
