The Angry Swordsman

by *Charisma*   Aug 19, 2006

You begged to see me for who I am
So I opened myself up wide
But I failed to see the deception
That was lurking behind your eyes

You did not want to see my true beauty
Or admire my inner charm
You wanted an innocent someone
To whom you could cause much harm

Like a skilled swordsman defending his love
You stabbed at me right and left
And although your blows I could dodge
I would soon run out of breath

And with one lunge you could have me
Your deepest desires come true
To cause someone an extraordinary pain
Yes it was the moment of truth

But I screamed out to you and pleaded
That this once my life you would spare
Something in my tone caught your heart
And you surrendered your anger right there

You begged for forgiveness and mercy
Down on your knees in front of me
I could since that you were being sincere
And granted you both of these

But before you went, I made you vow
That you would never cause pain again
And so you turned over your weapon
No longer an angry swordsman

That was good, but I felt like there was something missing. I couldn't quite point it out, but something was. Good job otherwise though.
