THE PRICE OF PROGRESSION

by Gary Jurechka   Aug 19, 2006

As long as there is no revolution forthcoming,
pray then for the breakdown
of modern society,
the collapse of civilization,
for we have paid
the price of progression
in losses we don't even realize.

Darkness has fallen,
but then there is light.

Amidst the change,
the ability to return to the instincts
within our hearts,
how easily our vision clears and expands,
how readily we can embrace
the mystery and beauty and awe
of this world
if only we give ourselves the chance.

So deep and so true, truly amazingly written. I totally agree with the message of this piece. The first stanza is my favorite. I like the wording and the atmosphere that you created very much.
