The Ghost of A Smile

by Thoughtless Consideration   Aug 19, 2006

As my fingers dance
To the steady music
And the steady beat
Of the rain,
I ponder about
Everything...
About your absurd ways,
And these crazy days.
But a smile haunts my face,
A smile haunts my face.
I read over those last couple words
In that peom you wrote for me,
And I feel that I can finally see
The old you,
The you I was so happy to meet.
And I read over those words,
And tears bubble in my eyes,
Because I also remember the beautiful years,
The years that were all lies.
But this smile on my face,
I just can't get it to go away,
It seems as if it is forever to stay.
