My Friend God

by Andy   Aug 20, 2006

You are a friend of mine,
A God so heavenly divine.
I don't know how I ever lived without you,
without that truth I wished I only knew.
I was aimlessly running around
not covering any ground
Getting caught up in all the worldly things,
suffering from all the anger that it brings.
The peer pressure from all my friends,
I just wanted to be part of the COOL trends.
It caused me a lot of pain and hurt,
and I just wanted to be buried beneath the dirt.
It was no big deal
because this life was too miserable to be real.
But it didn't take long
to relize all that I have done wrong.
And after inviting you to stay,
You helped me put off my old way.
Depression and thoughts of suicide you took away
and I started being happy everyday.
No more drugs nor alcohol,
to you I gave them all.
Now that I started living for you,
I love to see how much I grew.
I love looking at ahead
in this new path that I tread.
Through the valleys and the hills,
I will stay focused on your will.
This tattered life you did mend,
and I thank you so much for being my friend.
