Love, the Ever Elusive

by Rachel   Aug 20, 2006

Love
How sweet it is

Who does not dream
Of the wonderful sensation?

When it hits you
You never want to let go

The ecstacy of it all
Sweeping you into a dream

We relish the dizzy feeling
As if you were floating on pink clouds

All too soon though
Does it slip from your grip

Far too quickly
You spirale downward

And when you hit the pavement
The tears come in hot pursuit

Hands clasped to your heart
You scream for the agony within

You close your eyes
Trying to end your weeping

But all you can see is his face
His sweet, sweet face

"Why oh why do you leave me?"
You whisper

"Where did we go wrong?"
You wonder

Shakily standing to your feet
You try to find your love

But alas
You can find him nowhere

It seems he has dissapeared
Into the air itself

Nonetheless you keep looking
Keep hoping he's just around the corner

Eventually you give up
Sitting down with your hands in your face

Now all you can do is wish
Wish that he would come back to you

That love
The ever elusive

Would finally find
A place in your heart.
