A Family of Silence

by Gabi   Aug 22, 2006

A little girl about five years old
Jet black hair and deep blue eyes
Had gone outside to play,
Cause momma and daddy were fighting again

Daddy came home drunk and very angry
The house was dirty and dinner wasn't ready
The beds weren't made and the laundry wasn't done

So he took it out on momma
He slapped her across the face
She screamed and told her little girl to go outside and play

The girl ran out to the back yard
She didn't understand what was going on
She was scared and alone

She sat down on the swings,
And started humming a song
Then she heard it
A loud bang from inside the house

She ran inside to find her momma standing over her daddy's body
Blood dripping from her hands
A gun laying on the ground next to her

Tears filled the little girl's eyes
She ran to her daddy screaming, "Daddy! Daddy! Please get up!"
She didn't know why he wouldn't get up

Her hands now covered in blood and tears streaming down her face
She ran to her mamma's knees and wrapped her arms tight
Begging her momma to help daddy

Momma bent down and picked up the gun
She held it to her little girl's heart and pulled the trigger
Bang! Her baby girl dropped to the ground and died instantly

Then she held the gun to her head
She said, "Forgive me."
Momma pulled the trigger and fell to the floor

Silence surrounded the family
