Chicago Rain

by Weeping Wolf   Aug 22, 2006

Chicago Rain

walking the streets...
a bottle in a paper bag
as this gloomy dampness
hangs over the old city
puddles on the pavement
lamplight shows the way
of what lies ahead
an empty apartment.

Streetsigns and sidewalks
all have memories too.
Trashbins and parkinglots
all have a story to tell.

Singing in the Chicago rain
I let myself learn to love again.
