The Family Poem

by FELTON PHILLIPS   Aug 22, 2006

People are not perfect,
some are quite bizarre
But listen when I tell you,
how perfect families are

It was there in the beginning,
just like Adam and Eve.
This thing we all hold so dear,
we call it family

Born, married, adopted,
it really matters not
As long as you are together,
a family is what you got

Some families are large,
others are quite small
Know your family is a gift,
given by God to us all

Families are forgiving.
even when you are mad
Do not believe for one minute,
that your family wants you sad

Your family is always with you,
no matter where you may go
From the east coast to the west coast,
their love is there you know

I feel I have gotten my point across ,
without having gone to far
No, people are not perfect,
but families certainly are

(This poem was written to celebrate the concept of family. A concept that is in and of itself perfect. The concept of family transcends blood lines and in the end it is where you find the love and support that is crucial to your sense of well being.)
