And tonight in my sleep,
His face will haunt me,
I always see him there,
Laughing, spitting, screaming
He speaks to me in another tongue
But somehow I understand and respond
He grabs my soul and pulls me out of my body
Until I am standing next to myself.
I look at my body it appears to be
Empty, soulless, lifeless..dead
He takes my hand and leads me away
I don't feel anything my pain is gone
My mind is clear except a humming song,
I feel weightless, just drifting along.
Upon a house we stop the door ajar
Inside he shows me riches of the world.
Diamond rings, ruby incrusted crowns,
He whispers in my ear "Only things you, my queen, can wear!"
Room after room I roam,
I am enjoying what I see
He must have seen me smile,
Or perhaps a glisten in my eye.
Because all of a sudden he becomes mean,
He screams at me to hurry,
Strikes at me,
Telling me to release the Beast!
He frightens me; I don't know who he is,
Nor the beast he speaks.
I snap back into my body,
Awake I stare into the dark,
His presence still hovering over me,
Until I sleep again.
