Overcasted Dreams

by Lisa   Aug 24, 2006

Storm clouds are roarin' in
straight on the horizon
bringing with them great destruction
leaving nothing but the shambles
of a life untold,
a past relived,
a future broken...
the lightening flashes
the thunder crashes,
revealing the truth of her
heavy rains wash away
tears of a thousand years
a lifetime of heartaches and of heartbreaks
a time wished away but not forgotten
now once again, the sun hath not risen
shadows lay about in wake
waiting for a moments weakness,
waiting, taking, suffocating
last hopes and dreams held tight...
she's fading in the darkness,
unable to break through
like shackles they seal her in an unbreakable grip
from ever reaching her destiny.
her reality lies in ruins...
shall she leave it up to fate?
