Flying to Chicago

by Weeping Wolf   Aug 24, 2006

Looking down at the clouds
miles away in an airplane
theres nothing left in LA
So I'm flying to Chicago.

With a new love on my mind
I leave the sad past behind
but even when soaring in the wind...
i find it hard to learn to trust again.

Oh, oh, flying to Chicago
i wish everyone could know
that everything looks so much more beautiful
from far away......

Searching for a place I belong
i let this slow song
guide me home...
and I and I alone
is who hes dreaming of...

But i still speculate
the mistakes people make
maybe were all floating randomly (in a breeze)
or maybe we all have a destiny
But will we ever really know?
yearning for a home...
When theres no where else to go
I go to Chicago.

Oh, oh, flying to Chicago
i wish everyone could know
that everything looks so much more beautiful
from far away.......

I can relate to this as I'm only a couple hours from Chicago and have been there many times.I prefer the small city life of Dixon, but Chicago has such a history, like New York and Los Angeles.Sometimes a change of scenery brings a change of self.

Different write. I like the refrain. Its interesting because it starts out optimistic but has a sad undertone, especially with the ending. only one thing the 3rd to last line says "cold" but i think its supposed to be "could" other than that, its great. XXXXX
