Their Perfect Suicide

And in the end it's all the same
the beating heart will start to tame
and as the tub rapidly fills
the blood from her wrist slowly spills

her life ended suddenly today
as the reaper comes to take her away
it looks at her boyfriend with no glint in it's eye
he figures out what has happened and begins to sigh

he stumbles around and finds a pen
and at that very moment he figures out when
when, everything started to go in her life
then he believes the answer is his knife

he brings the blade to his wrist
of this action he does insist
to join at her side up above
and continue on with their endless love

the problem was he did not understand
of how it was not his time to leave this land
so he slashed down the middle once, then again
then fell to his knees and grabbed up the pen

as he falls over on the floor he will write
of how he did not give up the fight
but he did the second his wrists were slashed
and on both arms, too deeply gashed

they both lay there for a while on the floor
while their blood seeped together beneath the door
so they got their wish, together they ended
but the wounds they left for everyone else never mended
