I Watched You

by Cuddles   Aug 24, 2006

I watched you as you obliviously slept,
a small smile curving your sweet lips
as if your dreams held something beautiful...
I longed to touch them with my fingertips.

I watched you as you opened your eyes,
saw how you blinked to clear your vision,
and in that moment of intense quiet
I knew I'd crossed the event horizon.

The look you gave me quickened my heart.
I couldn't move, couldn't think.
Time came to a sudden halt,
and in your love I began to sink.

*event horizon-point in a black hole that when you cross it it grabs you so intensely that there's no going back.

What a beautiful poem you've penned here, "from a loved to the lover" writing with beautiful emotions,...breathtaking....

"The brilliant colours of the setting sun,
walks along the emerald sea, The feeling you had when your heart was won, For that is what you have meant to be."

have a great day and thanks for your beautiful comment, best wishes.
