Like the way

by brooke christina   Aug 25, 2006

Like a hot liquid
running down my throat
like the surroundings
of a warm coat
like the serenity
of spring and summer
like the burning
of a hot amber
like the tingle of needles
when you touch my skin
so good it's a crime
so good it's a sin
like the incredibility
of water and food
like the look of tobacco
all battered and chewed
like the crack in the window
when it was broken last
like the wind in your hair
when you're driving fast
like the taste of rose petals
all strong and bitter
like that crushing embrace
that gets heavier
like the ripples in wood
natures creation
like the aim of destruction
a bombs devastation
like the look on your face
when you look at me
like reflection settling in the deep blue
of your eye that i can see
like the swell of your lips
when they part mine
like the cherry red colour
our hearts divine
like the warm circling
inside my head
every time
that word is said
like the oxygen
you cannot see
like the way
you set me free
like the way i want you here
and the way I'll never go
like the way you were meant for me
and the way i love you so
