Since When?

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 25, 2006

My love knows where we have been
Yet asks me this every now and then

Do you love me, or do you have a doubt?
If you do, why can't you shout it out?

I say, so that is what you want me to do?
Yes, my dearest darling, I still love you

My love smiles and then like a comedienne
Laughs at me, and playfully asks since when

Tragedy and comedy must wear a mask
So I respond seriously, why do you ask?

Did not cupid in mischief yet fashion
An arrow filled with erotic passion?

Slinging it into my heart's desire
Filling my soul with eternal fire?

If our faith is in Love that is sublime
Then since when is a love confined to time?

I liked it. The wording was good and it flowed nicely. The only suggestion I would make is that you might add more to the poem. Make it a little meatier.

    gave it 5/5
