A Nobody

by Flying Phoenix   Aug 26, 2006

There she lies
In gentle sleep
Curled up peacefully
No tears to weep

Upon the dawn
And light of day
Those trickling tears
Did find their way

Tender memories
Of what was good
Faded and gone
Lonely she stood

For she is just
A nobody
No dazzling looks
Or personality
No second glance
Or flirtatious smile
She is just
A nobody

That fragile soul
Was torn again
And her love
Fell to shame

The good did make
Her heart did break
And down she lay
To cry

Her self esteem
Was broken fast
Does no one see
She is a beauty?

Or is she just
A nobody?
No dazzling looks
Or personality
No second glance
Or flirtatious smile
She must be
A nobody

Her lover's lost
Her time has come
As the pain
Did make her numb

Who does she blame
For this horrible lie?
Only herself
Not that frightful guy

Forgive that child
Who sobs alone
That nameless girl
Who wasn't known

For she just was
A nobody
No dazzling looks
Or personality
No second glance
Or flirtatious smile
She just was
A nobody
A nobody
A nobody in love
