Finally Saying Goodbye (song)

by Kristin   Aug 26, 2006

I thought I might cry as I waved to your back saying goodbye as you walked away, but I didn't I just laughed and walked the other way
I said maybe I'll feel it later, but I soon forgot you in the green of someone else's eyes I couldn't help myself I stared
As I saw your picture later on, I will admit I felt somewhat numb, but that just disappeared when I erased the messages you sent
Not one tear fell from my eyes, it's been a week and they're still dry, it's a sign you were never meant to be missed by me

You wouldn't like my face if I peeled off my mask anyway
My personality shining through you saw didn't belong to me
I love you meant more to me than it ever did to you
And I'm not sorry to admit that the best part of hello was finally saying goodbye
It set me free

The man I thought I saw in you was just a boy in dress up clothes pretending to be something that he wasn't
What I took for caring was immaturity in a sheet hidden so you could sit there and accuse me of being too immature for you
And when I finally fought for you, you walked away because someone else had taken the time to care for me the way you wouldn't or couldn't care
You should know you couldn't complain about the traits you yourself possess it'll make me care less when I say goodbye and walk away

You wouldn't like my face if I peeled off my mask anyway
My personality shining through you saw didn't belong to me
I love you meant more to me than it ever did to you
And I'm not sorry to admit that the best part of hello was finally saying goodbye
It set me free

Set me free

You wouldn't like my face if I peeled off my mask anyway
My personality shining through you saw didn't belong to me
I love you meant more to me than it ever did to you
And I'm not sorry to admit that the best part of hello was finally saying goodbye
It set me free
