The Tide Is Coming

by marilyn marti   Aug 27, 2006

I make the way for the stars
to hold the last bit of light I brought you to hold
to keep you safe
in the radiance of something loved
But I also brought some of the darkness you fear
we hold hands
relentless to the image of
pain, and grief. I cry.
There is something here
grasping to the smiles of all our
broken hearts cause we are
lonely, we are scarce.
Us, the few,
the few who show
some sympathy.
