And he finds it kind of funny,
That no one really cares,
And he finds it kind of daunting,
No one really knows he's there,
It seems Romeo is angry,
And it really dents his pride,
When a little girl can shout out loud,
"My daddy's never cried"
Hercules is breaking,
With his growing lack of fame,
And no one is around,
To realise it's a shame,
And no one goes to hold him,
As he lifts the bottle once more,
As he shrinks into his chair,
While it smashes to the floor,
He grunts with recognition,
As the TV shouts it's cries,
He isn't really looking,
But that's where he fixes his eyes,
It's the same old Friday night,
That occurs ever now and then,
It's when it really hits him,
That he's alone once again,
And a pictures staring back at him,
Two mucky faces smile,
And it all suddenly clicks,
They haven't done that for his while,
He reaches by his pillow,
His hand searches for the phone,
He doesn't look at what he's doing,
But he knows the layout of his home,
He dials for his daughter,
It's his second daily call,
And as she answers with a sigh,
He nearly wants to bawl,
But he doesn't quite let himself,
But he can't hide that he is down,
And he begins to tell her what's wrong,
While she rolls her eyes and frowns,
After a half hour phone call,
The phone line went dead,
And although she'd been replying,
He'd been alone from the first word he said,
And then it all happened quickly,
As the first tear began to fall,
And then he squashed his beer belly,
As he bent into a ball,
He didn't like anything,
He didn't like himself,
He'd had too much to drink,
And he was losing his mental health,
But no matter what the doctors said,
Still he'd just walk away,
And the depression was eating him alive,
Every single day,
The kids they began yelling,
They were angry he wouldn't give in,
What they were saying to him out of love,
Was hurting beneath his skin,
Then after a little while,
He seemed to wake out of the tears,
And then he took the same steps,
He'd been repeating for years,
As he marched into the kitchen,
And drew himself another shot,
He looked around the kitchen,
And despised "all he'd got".
