I Cried Today

by Ngairini Pollett   Aug 29, 2006

I cried today for the children in pain, who live in fear of abuse every day.
I cried today for the abusive parents who don't understand,
who'd rather break a child, then give them their hand.
I cried today for every broken dream, for every family in poverty who woke up in a scream.
I cried today for the millions of soldiers who gave their life in the war to set their nation free.
I cried today for every child imprisoned, knowing they have no where else to be.
I cried today for every person on the street, who wake up drowning in tears from when they cried themselves to sleep.
I cried today because today, i realized the harsh reality of the World... If only people cared.
