Friends Forever

by Sheldon   Aug 30, 2006

My heart aches so
For I am torn between
Two friends; two friends who are now
Separated by the cruelties of this
Mortal world, two friends who despite
Thine efforts began to grow further
Apart, until they no longer appeared
To be friends anymore but mortal enemies
Yet, I can still see the bonds of
Friendship that exists between them
However, it is too late for me to save them now
I must now focus on two more friends
In mortal danger of repeating a cycle
I had hoped never to see again
Anger, hurt, confusion, bewilderment
Such are the emotions
That flow along this cycle
Once again, I find myself stuck
In the middle, trying to save two friends
Heading down the long and rocky
Path to a fate much, much worse
Than death; A loss of faith in another
I do not want to interfere for fear I may, too
Be caught up in this battle and yet
I cannot just stand here and let
Two friends lose faith in one another
Therefore, I try to find a way
To bring peace, to restore faith
And most important of all
To save a friendship and bring happiness to hurt

Moral: A friend should not be taken for granted, but rather cherished as the bird does cherish its wings of freedom. I do not want to be hurt. A friend is like a heart – there is no other just like it in the world.
